In case of blackout, the library will remain open for 20 minutes to allow students to clear from the library.
Membership
- Library membership is only for registered KEWI staff and students.
- Non library members shall gain access to the library only on special permit issued by the Head of Department
General Library Rules
- Library members should produce their student ID cards at the circulation desk for service delivery purposes.
- Preserving of sitting space is not allowed
- Silence should be always maintained in the library
- Smoking, spitting, eating, drinking or sleeping in the library is prohibited
- The marking, defacing or mutilation of any library material is strictly prohibited. If this happens the person shall have to replace such disfigured books and make payment of the damaged property thereof.
- Re-shelving of materials used within the library is prohibited. Materials used should be left on the tables
- Personal items such as jackets, umbrellas, file folders, briefcases, bags, dust coats and personal books etc shall not be allowed inside the library. They should be left at the shelves near the library entrance door.
E-Library Rules
The library subscribes to e-books and e- journals which can be accessed from institutes website library and all computer labs via a laptop through wireless connectivity. Users are advised to consult librarian for purposes of accessing e- resources.
- Access must be for purpose of educational research and learning and to allow greater efficiency in teaching, research, administrative and service functions.
- Users are allowed to download the academic files and attach them to their email accounts. Use of flash disks, USB Cables and re-writable CDs are strictly prohibited in the digital library section.
- No user is allowed to install or uninstall any software or change system settings. Violation results in loss of the facility’s privileges.
- Sending or displaying non-educational or disruptive information/messages, files or pornographic images, playing computer games or music is prohibited.
- While accessing internet information services clients are expected to adhere to intellectual property laws, and security restrictions. Plagiarism is prohibited.
- Disruptive actions, either verbal and/or physical are prohibited
- Unplugging of computer cables from power sockets is strictly prohibited.
- There is no reservation for individual computer use
Clearance
Library clearance to registered members will be based upon;
- Payment of / for Overdue fine in full
- Payment/replacement of lost or damaged Library materials
