Note from Deputy Director
Welcome Note from Mr. Nelson M. Kwamini, Senior Deputy Director, Research, Strategy and Business Development.
The institute appreciates the important role that the personnel in the water sector play in order to achieve gradual realization of the universal access to water and sanitation and therefore has placed short courses for all levels and categories of personnel, from lowest ranking officers to the highest. The short courses cater also to personnel in the Ministry of Water Sanitation and Irrigation and other related ministries, Water Service Providers, Water Works Development Agencies, Water Services Regulatory Board, Water Resources Users Association, Basin Water Resources Committees and all other institutions established under Water Act 2016, County Governments water departments. Trainees from the private sector, non-Governmental organizations and foreign countries are also welcome at the Institute.
The Institute has reviewed some of the old short courses and introduced new syllabi intended to address existing shortfalls in the water sector. Short courses may also be custom-made upon request to meet specialized requirements of individual public institutions.
Trainees attending KEWI short courses are usually personnel with considerable experience in the water or related sectors. The calibre of faculty and trainers at the Institute are therefore distinguished professionals with appropriate knowledge, training, and above all, rich practical experience in water sector.
I am therefore welcoming you to KEWI to enhance your competencies as you serve the nation and the world.
